Nimisha S. Narayan

Registered Osteopath  ·  I.M. Osteo  ·  BLS Certified

"The body is not a machine to be fixed — it is a living conversation, and osteopathy teaches us to listen."

Nimisha graduated as the Gold Medallist of her osteopathy programme — a distinction that reflects not only academic excellence but an exceptional depth of clinical understanding from the very outset of her career.

Her training was shaped by faculty drawn from France, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, and Spain, each bringing over three decades of hands-on practice. This international foundation gave her a multi-dimensional lens through which she approaches every patient.

Nimisha's clinical focus lies in women's health and paediatric care. Her academic thesis investigated the relationship between postpartum musculoskeletal dysfunction and maternal mental health — a study that bridges structural medicine with emotional wellbeing in ways that continue to inform her practice.

A Structured Approach

Your Treatment Journey

Most conditions involve some degree of structural, organ, and nervous system dysfunction. Treating only one or two of these layers is the most common reason people experience temporary relief but not lasting recovery. The Complete Plan addresses all three — in the right sequence — because that is what a thorough and complete approach to your health actually requires.

01

Session One

Finding the Root Cause

Most people know where they feel the problem — this session finds where it actually comes from. Case history, functional tests, and movement assessment identify the true source and build your personalised treatment plan.

02

Session Two

Addressing the Primary Problem

With the diagnosis clear, we treat the primary structural or mechanical cause directly. Most patients notice a meaningful shift — but the body has further layers that still need attention.

03

Session Three

Treating How the Body Has Compensated

When the body lives with a problem it adapts — muscles tighten, joints load unevenly, movement patterns shift. These compensations recreate the original dysfunction unless addressed across the full musculoskeletal system.

04

Session Four

Addressing the Organ Involvement

The organs share mechanical relationships with the musculoskeletal system. Restrictions in the digestive system, diaphragm, or pelvic organs contribute to chronic symptoms in ways structural treatment alone cannot reach.

05

Session Five

Addressing the Nervous System & Closing the Plan

When dysfunction persists, the nervous system adapts — and those patterns do not resolve on their own. This session addresses cranial and autonomic involvement, and closes with a full reassessment and long-term maintenance plan.

M

After Session Five

Maintenance Sessions

Recovery does not end at Session 5. Maintenance monitors progress and prevents problems from re-establishing. Frequency tapers individually — as infrequent as once a year. The discounted maintenance rate applies only after completing the full Complete plan.

Frequently Asked

Not sure what to expect? We have answered the questions we hear most often.

Ask Us Directly
Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on approach that treats the whole musculoskeletal system — not just the site of pain. Unlike physiotherapy, which focuses primarily on exercise rehabilitation, osteopathy uses a wide range of gentle manual techniques to restore the body's structural balance and support its natural self-healing capacity. It is recognised by the World Health Organization as a legitimate medical discipline.
Not at all. Our approach uses gentle, non-invasive techniques designed to be comfortable and deeply restorative. You may feel mild tenderness in areas of tension, but most clients describe sessions as relaxing and calming. We always work within your comfort level.
Patients of all ages — from newborns and children to active adults and seniors — can benefit. It is especially effective for chronic pain, sports injuries, pregnancy-related discomfort, postural issues, stress-related tension, and age-related mobility changes.
This depends on your condition and goals. Acute issues may resolve in 2–4 sessions; chronic or complex presentations often benefit from a full course of care. After your initial assessment, we will give you a realistic treatment plan and honest timeline.
Yes — when performed by a trained osteopath, treatment during pregnancy is safe and deeply beneficial. We use gentle, adapted techniques to relieve back pain, pelvic girdle pain, and the structural changes of pregnancy. All techniques are stage-appropriate and guided entirely by your comfort.
Yes — always. If you have paid for Session 1 and want to upgrade to a package, your payment is credited in full and you pay only the balance. You can upgrade progressively at your own pace, all the way to the Complete plan, with no time limit on the decision.
Yes. Paediatric osteopathy is one of our specialist areas. Techniques for infants involve extraordinarily light touch — often no more pressure than a hand resting gently on the body. You are present and involved throughout the entire session, and nothing is done without clear explanation beforehand.
Yes. Osteopathy was formally introduced in India in 2015 and is recognised by the Government of Odisha as an allied medical science. The degree we hold is from Sri Sri University — a UGC-approved and recognised institution. Since no central regulatory council exists in India yet, the registration granted by the Government of Odisha is considered valid across the country. We are proud to be among the first generation of formally trained and registered osteopaths practising in India.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. You will not typically need to fully undress — we work around your clothing where possible and always provide a gown if needed.

Chronic Pain Relief

Pain is a signal —
not a life sentence.

When pain persists beyond the expected window of healing, it means the body is caught in a pattern — a cycle of compensation, tension, and restriction. Osteopathy works to interrupt that cycle at its root.

Osteopathic treatment for chronic pain relief at Sereñyā

What We Actually Look For

Most chronic pain has layers. A persistent lower back ache may trace back to restricted movement in the hips, an old ankle injury that was never fully rehabilitated, or a diaphragm that has been bracing against unresolved tension for years. A shoulder that won't settle may be connected to thoracic spine stiffness or nerve irritation at the neck.

We do not treat the site of pain in isolation. We treat the whole structural picture that has led the body to that point.

Conditions we commonly work with:

  • Back and neck pain — acute, recurring, or long-standing
  • Shoulder, elbow, and wrist complaints — including frozen shoulder and repetitive strain
  • Hip, knee, and ankle discomfort — whether from injury, overuse, or postural load
  • Headaches and jaw tension — often linked to cervical spine and cranial patterns
  • Nerve-related pain — such as sciatica or tingling through the limbs
  • Post-surgical stiffness — supporting the body's recovery after procedures

What to Expect in Your Session

Your first appointment is unhurried and thorough — typically 45 to 60 minutes. Before any hands-on assessment, we take a detailed case history: not just where it hurts, but when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what else is happening in your body, sleep, stress, and movement patterns.

Treatment may include:

  • Soft tissue work — releasing tension and improving circulation in restricted muscles and fascia
  • Joint articulation — restoring range of motion gently and progressively
  • High-velocity techniques (HVT) — precise, controlled movements that release joint restriction, used only where appropriate
  • Craniosacral work — gentle techniques addressing tension held in the nervous system
  • Visceral techniques — where organ mobility may be influencing musculoskeletal patterns

Nothing is done without explanation, and your comfort and consent guide every step.

How Many Sessions Will You Need?

Some patients experience meaningful relief within two or three sessions. Long-standing or complex pain patterns typically require a more sustained course of care. What we commit to is reassessing consistently, adjusting our approach as your body responds, and never continuing treatment beyond what is genuinely serving you.

Chronic pain changes how you live. Our role is to help you understand it, address it at its root, and give your body the conditions it needs to move beyond it.

Women's Care

Your body changes.
Your care should keep pace.

Women's health is not a niche — it is a distinct and deeply nuanced area of medicine. Osteopathy treats the whole woman, across every phase.

Women's osteopathic care at Sereñyā

Why Osteopathy for Women's Health

The pelvis is the structural and functional centre of the female body. When it is balanced, the systems it houses tend to function better. When it is not, the effects ripple outward: into the lower back, the hips, the diaphragm, the gut, and the nervous system.

Menstrual Health & Cycle-Related Pain

  • Painful or irregular periods
  • Endometriosis-related musculoskeletal pain
  • PMS-related tension, headaches, and low back pain
  • PCOS and its associated structural and inflammatory patterns

Pregnancy Care

Gentle, safe care adapted at every stage — for lower back and pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis discomfort, rib and mid-back tension, sciatic pain, and preparation of the pelvis for labour.

Postpartum Recovery

Postpartum osteopathy supports recovery from lower back and sacral pain, C-section scar tissue, diastasis recti, postural strain from feeding and carrying, and the relationship between physical recovery and emotional wellbeing.

Nimisha's own research focused specifically on the link between postpartum musculoskeletal dysfunction and maternal mental health — a connection that is clinically significant and frequently overlooked.

Perimenopause & Beyond

Maintaining resilience through hormonal transition — keeping the body mobile, well-supported, and as free from restriction as possible.

A Note on Our Approach

Women's bodies are not smaller versions of men's bodies, and they should not be treated as such. This is not a specialty we have added on. It is care we have trained specifically to provide, researched deeply, and continue to develop.

Wherever you are in your journey — we are equipped to meet you there.

Paediatric Care

Children are not small adults.
Their bodies deserve care that
understands the difference.

From the moment of birth, the body is in a state of extraordinary change. Paediatric osteopathy works with the body at its most responsive and adaptable.

Paediatric osteopathic care — gentle treatment for infants at Sereñyā

A Note for Parents

Every technique used with infants and children is specifically adapted to their age, size, and tolerance. For newborns, treatment involves extraordinarily light touch — often no more pressure than a hand resting gently on the body. You are present throughout. If at any point your child is distressed, we stop.

Newborns and Infants

  • Colic and digestive discomfort — tension in the diaphragm, vagus nerve restrictions, cranial compression
  • Birth trauma and cranial compression — from assisted deliveries, prolonged labours, or rapid births
  • Feeding difficulties — structural assessment of jaw, tongue, palate, and throat coordination
  • Plagiocephaly — positional head flattening, addressed before cranial bones consolidate
  • Sleep disturbance — addressing structural discomfort that prevents settled sleep

Toddlers and Young Children

  • Postural asymmetries and gait concerns — toe-walking, in-toeing, persistent limping
  • Recurrent ear infections and glue ear
  • Growing pains with structural contributors

School-Age Children and Adolescents

  • Postural strain from screen time and study
  • Scoliosis monitoring and supportive care
  • Sports injuries — Osgood-Schlatter, Sever's disease, adolescent hip problems
  • Headaches and jaw pain

Children do not always have the words to tell you something is wrong. They show you — through how they feed, how they sleep, how they move, how they grow.

We would be honoured to care for your child.

Elderly Care

Growing older does not mean
accepting limitation.

It means your body deserves more thoughtful care, not less. Much of what older adults experience as inevitable is the accumulated consequence of structural patterns that have never been properly addressed.

Elderly care osteopathy — maintaining mobility and independence

What We Work With

Chronic Joint Pain and Arthritis

While we cannot reverse arthritic change, osteopathic care can meaningfully improve movement quality around affected joints, reduce muscular guarding, and support surrounding structures in absorbing load more efficiently — translating into a significant, sustained reduction in pain.

Spinal Health and Posture

  • Kyphosis — upper back rounding that restricts breathing, affects balance, and strains the neck
  • Lumbar degeneration and disc-related pain
  • Facet joint irritation and spinal stiffness
  • Postural change following fracture or prolonged immobility

Balance and Fall Prevention

Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death and disability in adults over 65. Osteopathic care supports fall prevention by improving joint mobility, proprioceptive feedback, and the body's capacity for rapid postural adjustment.

Osteoporosis and Bone Health

All techniques are specifically adapted for patients with reduced bone density — gentler, more sustained, and carefully considered. No high-velocity manipulations where contraindicated.

Respiratory Function

Restoring thoracic mobility and diaphragm function can meaningfully improve breathing capacity and reduce fatigue that many older adults accept as normal.

Independence is not just physical. It is the confidence of knowing your body is supported, understood, and cared for — for the long arc of a life well lived.

Ready to Begin?

We would be honoured to support your wellbeing.

Sports Recovery

Getting back to performance
is not just about rest.

It is about understanding what happened, why, and what needs to change. An injury is the end result of a chain of events — and treating it in isolation is why so many athletes return to the same problem.

Sports recovery rehabilitation at Sereñyā

Who We Work With

The recreational runner, the weekend footballer, the gym-goer managing a recurring shoulder issue, the dancer with a chronic hip problem — all deserve the same quality of assessment as an elite athlete. We work across the full spectrum.

Acute Injuries

  • Muscle strains and tears
  • Ligament sprains — ankle, knee, shoulder, wrist
  • Joint trauma and post-impact swelling
  • Rib and thoracic injuries common in contact sports
  • Acute nerve irritation and referred pain

Chronic and Overuse Injuries

  • Tendinopathies — Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff, and lateral elbow
  • IT band syndrome and hip flexor dysfunction
  • Chronic hamstring, groin, and adductor complaints
  • Recurring ankle instability
  • Lower back pain in athletes

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

  • ACL and other ligament reconstructions
  • Shoulder labrum and rotator cuff repairs
  • Hip arthroscopy and spinal procedures

Return to Sport — Done Properly

We do not clear athletes to return based on pain alone. We look for restored movement quality, neuromuscular control, symmetry, and structural integrity. An honest timeline is infinitely better than a repeat injury.

Whether you are recovering from injury, preparing for competition, or determined to stay in the sport you love for as long as possible — we are here to make sure your body is equal to the demand you place on it.

Let's get you back to where you belong.
